Alumni Open Day
Saturday 13 July 2013
The planning had only begun back in March when a small but select group of alumni met to discuss new membership. From those ideas came the Open Day and an opportunity for all former pupils, staff and friends of the school to revisit.
The day was blessed with glorious sunshine. The ground staff had prepared the front of school to look its best. Banners of Bromsgrove had the BBQ cooking, Birds Brewery of Bromsgrove had supplied us with a barrel of Natural Blonde and another of Eureka. The decision to make all the food and refreshment free of charge certainly worked as those present indulged in some great burgers, hot dogs, beer and wine. Not forgetting the support of the AFS and their hot and cold drinks and cream teas which went down very well.
Alumni young and old enjoyed an afternoon of reminiscing, sports, music and socialising. They came from far and wide and the school appreciates the effort many of you made to join us for this first open day event. There were a few pupils who have literally just left and therefore in the infancy of their alumni status, there were some who had moved on in the last five years, there were some who were returning for the first time in 20 years. Two young men were back on site having started their careers at the original Camp Hill in 1953!
It was wonderful to see so many of you and to hear how you are all faring. We have laid some foundations for further gatherings and will work together to plan for future occasions.
Please register your details via the Join Us page if you have not done so already.
Oh and Beaufort won the wrist band sale!
Many thanks for your support.
